June 12, 2011HoG-O @ 119 Gallery. We played the second set. I forgot to turn on the recorder, missed the first piece.
Loup-Garou:
Setheyny Pen and Walter Wright, electronics
with
Wisteriax, cello.
Karen Langlie mixes the organic sounds of cello with electronics and effects to conjure improvisational soundscapes. The results of this union are sometimes as unexpected to her as they are to the listener. She has collaborated with many Boston-based musicians in live and recorded sessions. She says, “Wisteriax is the name I decided to give to my solo cello project. The word has a nice ring to it. I made it up.”

June 3, 2011“Loup-Garou kicked things off, and we were all awestruck by the sounds Walter and Setheyny drew from hand-held electronics and volume pedals. Their improvised compositions were all about timbre and dynamics, resonating through the wooden floors of the hall.”
