Saturday September 26, we start the tour at Last Church on the Left in Portland, ME. Katt is along for the first part of the miniTour. It is the first time all of us have played together. The lineup is –

Chris Welcome Group:
Chris Welcome – guitar, Jonathan Moritz – sax, Shayna Dulberger – double bass, John McLellan – drums.
Jeff Platz Group:
Jeff Platz – guitar, Kit Demos – double bass, John McLellan – drums.
Apocalypso Trio:
Joe Burgio – movement, Shayna Dulberger – double bass, Walter Wright – analog synths + Katt Hernandez – violin.

After the gig we follow Kit Demos to his house. Joe sees potential UFO landing sites. We park in front of a purple barn. We unload. The barn contains a large a two-story performance space, unheated, and a backroom and studio, both heated. We stay in the heated backroom.

Sunday September 27, we return to 119 Gallery for Lowell Open Studios. Shayna, Katt and I play that afternoon. We go for dinner at Udupi Bhavan, an Indian vegetarian restaurant.

Monday September 27, Joe, Shayna, Katt and I take off for Montreal. At the border Canadian Immigration check our schedule then pass us through. Turns out that, as a Canadian citizen with a ‘green card’ I’m free to perform either side of the border. Following Gordon’s instructions, “cross the river and go north,” we arrive at L’envers. The lineup for Monday night is –

Tuesday September 28, it rains all day. Joe and I go for a walk and get soaked. Shayna goes to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Katt rests. We play with Gordon’s cat, Pants. That evening we head over to La Cagibi for Mardi Spaghetti, a weekly series for improvisers. The lineup is –

Group 1: Rémy Belanger-de Beauport – violoncelle, J-O Bégin – trombone, Walter Wright – analog synths.
Group 2: Gordon Allen – trumpet, Katt Hernandez – violin, Shayna Dulberger – double bass, Isaiah Ceccarelli – drums.

Wednesday September 29, we return to Boston for an open rehearsal at Joe’s studio –

bodydrama: Joe Burgio, Betty Wang – movement, Matt Samolis – flute, Walter Wright – analog synths & video + Shayna Dulberger – double bass.

Sunday October 4, we finish the miniTour playing Blaise Siwula’s C.O.M.A. series at ABC No-Rio, NYC –

Set 1: Tom Shad – bass, Evan Gallagher – Casio keyboard.
Set 2: Apocalypso Trio: Joe Burgio – movement, Shayna Dulberger – double bass, Walter Wright – analog synth & video.
Set 3: Open Session

I think, it was the best set of the tour. It was the shortest set of the tour. Good energy! Thanks to everyone who came out to see us play.
